Worker escapes uninjured as cargo vehicle blows up.

Remnants of a vehicle litter the road, the workman's van is shattered. On Wednesday morning, a car detonated outside a dwelling in Rietberg, North Rhine-Westphalia. Miraculously, the driver (57) emerged unharmed.

One early morning, a roofer was heading to work at 5:15 a.m. Like usual, he got into his van. Suddenly, a huge blast rocked the area - his van had exploded.

Incredibly, the roofer survived with severe injuries. Emergency responders arrived promptly, tended to him, and afterwards, transported him to the hospital for medical attention.

The explosion was so intense that vehicle parts soared through the air for meters, also damaging the roof and windows of a house adjacent to where the van was parked. Numerous parked cars were also hit and ruined by flying debris.

It seems that the roofer had been storing numerous gas cylinders in his vehicle. The exact cause of the explosion remains unknown.

The police representative commented, "At this stage, there are no signs of anyone else's responsibility." The investigation into the accident site is still in progress. The criminal investigation unit is handling this case.
