Wonder Women Conference 2025 unites female leaders to break industry barriers

The Wonder Women Conference 2025 took place on September 26 at BFI Southbank. Organised by Wonder Women CIC, the event brought together over 20 female leaders from TV, film, and creative industries. Speakers and delegates focused on leadership, resilience, and breaking barriers for underrepresented women.

Founded in 2017 by Ria Hebden, Wonder Women CIC supports intersectional women in television and screen industries. The network aims to elevate diverse talent into senior leadership roles. This year's conference built on that mission with practical strategies for career growth.

The event featured four panel discussions, a leadership masterclass, and a fireside chat. A short film screening also formed part of the programme. Delegates heard from senior figures at Channel 4, Warner Bros Discovery, and the BBC. Sponsors included Warner Bros Discovery Access UK and Channel 4. Their support helped address systemic challenges faced by marginalised women in the sector. The conference tackled retention issues and offered tools for progression in a competitive industry. Attendees included creatives, on-screen talent, and executives. The mix of voices highlighted both the obstacles and opportunities for women from underrepresented backgrounds.

The 2025 conference reinforced Wonder Women CIC's role in driving change for diverse women in media. Delegates left with actionable advice and stronger professional networks. The event's focus on retention and leadership aims to create lasting impact in the industry.
