The final drawing of the promotion, which will also award five prizes of $5,000 each, is scheduled for January 16, 2025. However, Shari's win was initially unclaimed, with the lucky ticket going unchecked on December 4, 2024. It wasn't until a Lottery official called her that she discovered her fortune.

Shari decided to share the big news with her family, organising a meeting where she wrote $100,000 on pieces of paper and handed them out to her loved ones. The suspense was high, with even her husband, Darryl, not knowing what the meeting was about. Darryl had to wait for someone else to open their paper to find out the news.

This isn't Shari's first second-chance prize. In 2023, she won club-level season tickets for one year in a Baltimore Ravens promotion. Shari is an avid scratch-off player who often registers non-winning lottery tickets into My Lottery Rewards.

As for the plans for her winnings, Shari expressed her excitement about having "many zeros" in her bank account for the first time. She plans to explore home improvement options and pay some bills with her winnings.
