Fire at Kutscherweg Storage Facility
A significant fire broke out near a horse farm on Kutscherweg, Pforzheim, on Saturday evening at approximately 11:20 PM.
Upon arrival, emergency services found an external storage facility with around 500 round bales fully engulfed in flames. The Pforzheim Fire Department responded with 19 vehicles and around 70 personnel, and they were joined by the police and emergency medical services. The Technical Relief Agency from Pforzheim provided additional support with a front-end loader, 3 emergency vehicles, and 10 personnel.
The firefighting operation lasted for several hours as the hay bales had to be separated using a front-end loader and then extinguished individually. Despite the smoke, traffic was not affected. However, initial traffic reports on local radio stations warned of potential visibility impairments.
The smoke from the fire drifted towards the highway, and the police deployed 3 patrol cars and a police helicopter to the scene. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and the police have not released any information about any findings or investigations related to the fire. The estimated property damage from the fire is several thousand euros. The volunteer fire department from the Dillweißenstein district and the Pforzheim city branch of the German Red Cross provided catering for the emergency services.
