In the world of AI-driven music, the Future Sound Awards have made a significant impact, being referred to as the "Grammys of AI music." Launched by an organization specializing in AI technology, these awards aim to showcase the human stories behind the technology and share their music.

This year, the Future Sound Awards have attracted a large number of entries, with over 500 submissions. After rigorous selection, 15 tracks have been shortlisted, including the works of two UK-based finalists: Lucas Horne from Nottinghamshire and Gallis from Essex.

Lucas Horne, a 26-year-old musician, found himself in a life-threatening situation in 2016 when he suffered a massive brain bleed. Spending four months in a coma, Horne's recovery was a long and arduous journey. After his recovery, he was unable to walk and talk, and his primary method of communication was writing.

Despite the challenges, Horne's spirit remained undeterred. He began to write songs during his care home days, and when he was introduced to AI, he saw it as a tool for enhancing human creativity, not replacing it. His music, released under the name BTO Kid, with 'BTO' standing for 'beat the odds,' is a testament to his resilience and determination.

Horne believes AI helped him create music he's proud of, expressing his feelings and experiences. To overcome the challenge of a changed voice after recovery, he used AI to modify his voice to express the emotion he wanted in his music. His music, while not comparable to that of Adele, is something he is proud of and cherishes.

Horne was interviewed by Sky News, where he shared his journey and his music. The Future Sound Awards, with its focus on human stories, is the perfect platform for Horne to share his music and inspire others.

Joining Horne as a UK finalist is Gallis from Essex. The exact details about the other finalists, apart from Horne and Gallis, could not be found at the time of writing.

The winner of the Future Sound Awards will be announced in September. Narcis Marincat, Head of AI at Fanvue and Future Sound Awards judge, emphasizes the positive impact of AI in music. Fanvue, a subscription creator platform with over 180,000 creators, including musicians, artists, and sports stars, is a testament to the growing influence of AI in the creative industry.

The Future Sound Awards, with its focus on human stories and the positive impact of AI, is a significant event in the world of AI-driven music. As we await the announcement of the winner, the stories of Horne and Gallis serve as a reminder of the power of creativity, resilience, and the transformative potential of technology.
