Fritz's Successor for Werder revealed - Will Niemeyer's work begin earlier?

Last Sunday was a day Peter Niemeyer (40) would like to forget!

As the current manager of Münster, he missed the opening goal in their 0:2 defeat against Preußen in the 2nd division game held in Verl.

To compensate for this loss, Niemeyer aims to secure a home victory next Saturday (1.30 pm) against Unterhaching. This would be an ideal way to reinforce their place in the 4th division before his move to Werder Bremen.

Niemeyer is scheduled to join Werder Bremen, taking over as head of professional soccer and replacing Clemens Fritz (43) in July. However, he might start earlier if things go as planned. And that's not just a possibility but quite feasible.

Will Niemeyer begin earlier?

Such a move would benefit Bremen significantly because Münster's core team, including Fritz and the squad planner Johannes Jahns, holds key power in their player transfers. It's crucial for Bremen to act urgently.

For Niemeyer, who was purchased by Münster for approximately 100,000 euros, it's paramount that he doesn't appear neglectful despite his impending move to Bremen. He reaffirmed his commitment to Münster saying, "I'm 100% committed to Preußen Münster to finish this fantastic season successfully."

However, if Münster loses their home game against Unterhaching, Niemeyer may face additional challenges before moving on. The subsequent relegation games are likely to take place – with Münster assured of victory. His alternative matches would then be either against SV Wehen Wiesbaden or Hansa Rostock. The second match of the round would fall on May 28th – just in time for starting at the Weserstadion on June 1st.
