‘Wicked’ Musical Makes Historic India Debut in Mumbai Next March
The hit musical Wicked will make its Indian debut at Mumbai’s Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) from March 12 to 29, 2026. Tickets go on public sale on November 19, 2024, following exclusive presales for Axis Bank credit cardholders and NMACC members earlier that month. The announcement comes as the musical’s recent film adaptation smashes global box office records, earning over $757 million worldwide.
The production arrives as part of the Wicked International Tour, organised by the Broadway Entertainment Group. Before reaching India, the tour will visit the Middle East and Dubai. With over 100 cast and crew members, 350 costumes, and complex technical requirements, the show marks one of the largest theatrical productions ever staged in the country.
The musical’s arrival in Mumbai follows a wave of cinematic success and growing demand for live entertainment in India. If successful, the production may encourage more international tours to consider the country as a viable market. NMACC’s role in hosting such events could further solidify its reputation as a hub for world-class theatre.
