WhistlePig's 10-Year Rye Crowned Best at 2025 Las Vegas Spirits Awards

Five rye whiskeys took top honours at the 2025 Las Vegas Global Spirits Awards. The competition, held in Las Vegas, recognises excellence across multiple categories, with judges scoring entries on a 100-point scale. WhistlePig's Small Batch Rye Aged 10 Years claimed the highest title, beating strong rivals. The Las Vegas Global Spirits Awards evaluates spirits based on appearance, aroma, palate, balance, and finish. Medals range from Bronze to Platinum, with special distinctions for Best in Category and Best in Show. This year's rye whiskey section saw two Platinum and three Gold awards handed out.

WhistlePig's Small Batch Rye Aged 10 Years, a Vermont farm-distilled whiskey bottled at 50% ABV, secured the top spot. It earned 99.4 points, narrowly edging out its stablemate, WhistlePig Old World Rye Aged 12 Years, which scored 99.3. The 12-year expression, known for its high-rye mash bill and multi-cask finishing, took runner-up honours. Another standout was American Icon's Big Red Rye, produced by Land Run Distillery. Judges noted its bright citrus zest and warm baking spices on the nose. The competition, run by industry professionals, continues to highlight craftsmanship in global spirits.

WhistlePig's Small Batch Rye Aged 10 Years now holds the title of world's best rye whiskey for 2025. The awards also showcased the depth of quality in American rye, with multiple distilleries earning recognition. No other major accolades for this specific whiskey were reported between 2023 and 2026.
