Where to play blackjack in Red Dead Redemption 2 for challenges and fun

Players in Red Dead Redemption 2 can enjoy blackjack in several locations, each with its own rules and risks. The game offers four distinct ways to play, from early-access tables to high-stakes saloons locked behind story progress. Not all games count towards challenges, making some spots more valuable than others.

The earliest and most dependable place to play is Rhodes. A table sits upstairs in the Rhodes Parlour House, usually with a $4 buy-in. Two non-playable characters often join the game, adding a social touch to the experience.

Van Horn provides another option in the back of the Old Light Saloon at the Trading Post. This table typically costs $3 to enter, offering a lower-stakes alternative. Both Rhodes and Van Horn are essential for completing Gambler Challenge 6, which demands beating the dealer at these two locations. Blackwater's blackjack table, however, remains off-limits until later in the story. Located on Main Street in the saloon, it carries a higher buy-in of around $5 and comes with added risk. Unlike the other tables, this one unlocks only after progressing through the main missions. A fourth, less reliable option appears at the Van der Linde gang camp. These spontaneous games pop up during downtime but do not count towards any gambler challenges. Their unpredictability makes them a casual distraction rather than a strategic choice.

For players aiming to complete Gambler Challenge 6, Rhodes and Van Horn are the only valid locations. The camp games remain optional and inconsistent, while Blackwater's table stays locked until the story allows. Each spot offers a different experience, balancing accessibility, cost, and challenge requirements.
