Western Gymkhana Trophy Ice brings American equestrian flair to Lazio

The Western Gymkhana Trophy Ice is set to highlight American-style equestrianism in Lazio. This three-stage series focuses on horsemanship and precision riding, offering a platform for young and improving riders. The final round will take place on January 25, 2026, with pre-registrations closing on December 24.

The competition tests both speed and the accuracy of executed manoeuvres. Riders must demonstrate practical experience and compete with horses in peak psychophysical condition. Consistent training and respect for each horse's abilities remain key to success.

Marco Sterbini, the Western Gymkhana Lazio discipline coordinator, is leading the event's organisation. His role includes driving technical improvements and ensuring the series runs smoothly. The Trophy Ice aims to attract rider-horse pairs from various equestrian centres across Lazio, though no centres from the Latium region have yet confirmed participation. Designed for young riders and those refining their technique, the event introduces participants to Western-style equestrianism. The discipline emphasises strong horsemanship skills, making it a valuable experience for competitors.

The Trophy Ice series offers a structured opportunity for riders to develop their skills in a competitive setting. With the final round approaching in January 2026, organisers are preparing for a showcase of precision and speed. Pre-registrations remain open until December 24 for those meeting the requirements.
