According to the "Deichstube", 19-year-old David Igboanugo is set to join the Weser from the Hamburg regional league.

Bremen won out over Union Berlin and Hertha BSC in the race to sign the promising defender. His family's connection to the area and the opportunities at Werder Bremen helped make the decision.

EMG Mundial, Igboanugo's agent, gave their approval for him to join the Bundesliga club. The agency also represents Marvin Ducksch (30) and Michael Zetterer (28).

Igboanugo's journey began in Düsseldorf, where he played for Borussia Mönchengladbach's youth academy. From 2015 to 2021, he honed his skills with the famous club. He then transferred to Hamburg and became a regular starter in their second team, playing in 23 matches (including 17 starts) and scoring 2 goals.
