New on Streaming: "The Paper", "Below - Almost Eye to Eye", and "Silent Night - And Tomorrow We Die"
In the world of entertainment, there's always something new to discover. This September, three intriguing productions are making their way onto our screens. Let's take a closer look at each one.
First up, "The Paper", a star-studded spoof of a documentary and a sitcom, created by the team behind the beloved series "The Office". Set in a newspaper office in the American Midwest named "Toledo Truth-Teller", the team's goal is to get the newspaper back on track. Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, and Chelsea Frei are among the talented cast members bringing this unique production to life. "The Paper" will be available on Sky and Wow from September 5th.
Moving on to "Below - Almost Eye to Eye", a Norwegian dramedy series that's already been making waves since its release on ARD-Mediathek on August 29th. This six-part series explores the concept of being "below" in an unconventional way, gradual revealing the tragic guilt of its heroine, Fanny, through flashbacks. Maria Austgulen plays Fanny, a paralyzed daredevil character who refuses to fit into any cliche and can be both vulnerable and hurtful. Award-winning director Siri Seljeseth sensitively and humorously stages "Below - Almost Eye to Eye", playing with expectations and gender roles.
Last but not least, "Silent Night - And Tomorrow We Die", a British film available on Paramount+ from September 12th. This black comedy about the apocalypse follows a family as they host their annual Christmas dinner, unaware that it's their last night due to an approaching environmental catastrophe. The film stars Keira Knightley, Roman Griffin Davis, Lily-Rose Depp, and Annabelle Wallis, among others.
Each of these productions offers a unique perspective and promises an engaging viewing experience. Whether you're in the mood for a mockumentary, a thought-provoking dramedy, or a dark comedy, there's something for everyone this September. Happy watching!
