Initially a pilot project that began in May, the After-Work Market was designed to cater to those whose regular working hours conflict with the usual morning market times. The market, held on the market square of Deichstadt, has been a collaborative effort between the City Marketing Office and the market vendors.

Over the past few months, the City Marketing Office has been working closely with traders to gather feedback and develop the offerings. In response to visitor requests to improve the concept, the After-Work Market will now be held every week, providing a more frequent opportunity for shoppers to enjoy the unique offerings.

Every two weeks, homemade chutneys, oils, and vinegars will be available, alongside a variety of fresh produce, crisp bread specialties, cakes and pastries. Ligurian specialties from Sebastian Badenberg, hearty soups and stews from Stephan Monzen, and wines from Deichstadt winemakers and Abgehoben wine shop will also be available on-site.

Some stalls have withdrawn due to lack of customer interest in certain products, but the remaining vendors are committed to continuing the After-Work Market. The market invites not only shopping but also lingering and enjoyment, making it a perfect spot for an evening out.

The After-Work Market is being held in partnership with the City Marketing Office and the market vendors, with the aim of promoting local businesses and fostering a sense of community. Starting in September, new events are being offered, including continued cultural and festive activities such as those around the city center and public celebrations like the creole_sommer.
