In a series of weekend checks conducted by the Federal Police Inspectorate Chemnitz as part of reintroduced border controls, four individuals were taken into custody on Saturday and Sunday. However, one individual, a 31-year-old Slovak, was later able to continue his journey after paying a fine.

The Slovak's case is an example of an individual being able to pay their fine and avoid detention, unlike the Bulgarian, Hungarian, and Romanian individuals mentioned in previous bullet points. The Slovak's offense was different from those of the other three individuals, who were arrested for outstanding fines or theft-related charges.

The warrant for the Slovak's arrest was from the Passau Public Prosecutor's Office, related to a violation of the Narcotics Act. The checks conducted by the Federal Police Inspectorate Chemnitz on the Slovak were in Reitzenhain. The Slovak's fine was lower than the fines of the Hungarian and Romanian individuals, but higher than the fine of the Bulgarian individual.

The Slovak was not sentenced by a local court, unlike the Hungarian individual who was sentenced for theft by the Burg Local Court. The Hungarian individual, a 39-year-old Hungarian national, was taken to the JVA in Chemnitz on Sunday due to a warrant from the Stendal Public Prosecutor's Office for a fine of 1284.50 euros or an alternative sentence of 40 days in detention for theft.

The 39-year-old Romanian national was wanted for complicity in theft and was taken to the JVA in Chemnitz on Sunday due to a warrant from the Essen Public Prosecutor's Office for an outstanding fine of 1733.20 euros or an alternative sentence of 99 days in detention.

A 35-year-old Bulgarian was taken to the JVA in Chemnitz on Saturday due to an outstanding fine of 536 euros or an alternative sentence of 30 days in detention. The search results do not provide the name of the head of the Bundespolizeiinspektion Chemnitz as of September 2025.

It is important to note that all three individuals were unable to pay their outstanding fines and were taken to the JVA. Unlike the Slovak, the Bulgarian, Hungarian, and Romanian individuals were not able to pay their fines and avoid detention.

The Federal Police Inspectorate Chemnitz continues to conduct weekend checks as part of reintroduced border controls, ensuring the safety and security of the region. The exact number of individuals taken into custody during these checks is not known at this time.
