Warnings issued by a driving school instructor at the exam center in Móstoles regarding the roundabout: "Every time we pass by it, we encounter issues"

The Móstoles roundabout, a common feature on Spanish roads, has become a recurring issue for those trying to obtain a driving license. This complex intersection, located near the exam center in Móstoles, is a reminder of the importance of anticipation, observation, and respect for the rules in driving.

Roundabouts, or traffic circles, are a common type of road infrastructure in Spain, designed to improve traffic flow and reduce the risk of accidents. However, the Móstoles roundabout, with its three entries and two exits, presents a unique challenge due to its imbalance between access lanes and those inside.

Jorge Herrero, a resident of Madrid, shares the instructor's concerns. He explains, "The student arriving in the central lane is often left in a difficult situation due to the movements of cars coming from the M-50." This imbalance often leads to conflicts during driving tests at the roundabout.

To navigate this problematic roundabout successfully, Autoescuela Merinero, a driving school in Alcobendas, recommends a safer strategy. Approach the roundabout carefully, yielding to traffic already inside, signaling appropriately when exiting, and choosing the correct lane early. If a driver doesn't have time to switch to the right lane before entering the roundabout, they should enter the middle lane, check their right and left, and enter the second lane directly.

However, the instructor cautions against entering the roundabout without yielding from the right lane, a mistake some students have made during exams. If the right lane is occupied and there's no time to switch, it's better not to take the risk and go around again, positioning oneself on the right side.

Passing the driving test is not just about passing, but about learning to drive safely, both inside and outside complicated roundabouts. The Móstoles roundabout serves as a valuable learning experience for novice drivers, teaching them the importance of anticipation, observation, and respect for the rules in driving, especially in complex situations.
