Veteran Wanda Leonarda Parandya, Honorary Citizen of Bremen and Krasnodar, Passes Away at 99

Wanda Leonarda Parandya, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, has passed away at the age of 99. Born in Leningrad, she spent her formative years in the city during the war and lost her family during the blockade.

Parandya's life took a significant turn when she moved to Krasnodar, where she was granted the title of Honorary Citizen. Her contributions to the city were recognised once again, as Bremen also honoured her as an honorary citizen.

Parandya's work was in a war-related industry, specifically on a defense factory. She was instrumental in the production of shells for the "Katyusha", a multiple rocket launcher system used extensively during the war.

Despite the hardships she faced, Parandya was surrounded by loving family members until her last days. Her passing is considered a great loss for her family, the city of Krasnodar, and the entire country.

Krasnodar Mayor Yevgeny Naumov expressed his condolences to Parandya's loved ones, stating that her passing is a great loss not only to her family but also to the city and the country.

Another veteran, Ivan Kurbaov, also passed away at the age of 105 in Gelendzhik, marking the loss of yet another hero from the Great Patriotic War.

Parandya was awarded the title "Honorary Citizen of the City of Krasnodar" by the President of Russia in recognition of her significant contributions to the city and the country. Her life and work serve as a testament to the resilience and courage of the Russian people during one of the most challenging periods in history.
