Jason MacBride to Appear on November Ballot as Both Republican and Independent Candidate

After a series of court rulings, Jason MacBride has been reinstated on the November ballot as both a Republican and an independent candidate for Ontario County District Attorney.

The journey began with a challenge to MacBride's appearance on the Republican primary ballot. The court originally found MacBride short on signatures, but a recent review by the court determined that his petition had sufficient valid signatures.

The court granted MacBride's motion to reargue due to a technical error in the review of his signature-validating affidavits. This error caused the court to review incomplete copies of MacBride's affidavits, which were crucial in proving he had enough valid signatures to qualify for the Truth and Justice ballot line.

With the added valid signatures, MacBride's petition now meets the legal threshold for the Truth and Justice ballot line. This means that he will appear on the November ballot with the Truth and Justice line restored.

Neither William Hastings nor the Ontario County Board of Elections opposed MacBride's motion to reargue. The motion for reconsideration of MacBride's challenge to the signature records, which were originally incomplete due to technical reasons, was submitted by the team of the Alliance party.

This marks the second court case that MacBride has successfully defended himself in during this election season. The Ontario County Supreme Court reversed an earlier ruling that had removed MacBride from the ballot.
