Voting for Essen commences on the 18th of August through direct elections

Voting for the local, RVR, and integration council elections in Essen began on August 15, 2025. The direct vote, which will decide the city's leadership, is scheduled from August 18, 2025, to September 12, 2025.

The voting process will take place at the Essen Town Hall, specifically in the direct voting office, 1st floor, room Sunderland. Voters are required to bring their voting notification letter and a valid ID or passport.

Voting hours are from 8:30 to 16:00, Monday to Friday. However, on September 12, 2025, voting hours will be extended to 15:00 due to the direct vote.
