Landshut District Authority Announces Volunteer Training for Home Care Support

The Landshut district authority, in cooperation with the Fachstelle for Dementia and Care in Lower Bavaria and the market Ergolding, is offering a training for volunteers who wish to support people in need of care at home. The training is scheduled for Thursday, 16th October 2025, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Ahornhof Ergolding (Community Room), Bargrabenstraße 8, 84030 Ergolding.

Interested parties can register for the training by Thursday, 2nd October 2025. Registration can be made by phone at 0871 408 2116 or by email at [email protected]. The person to contact for registration on October 2, 2025, for the training on October 16, 2025, in Ahornhof Ergolding is named Karin Mühlbauer.

The training is primarily intended for citizens with residence in the district of Landshut. It is offered for the first time and is provided according to § 82 Abs. 4 Satz 2 Nr. 1 AVSG. To engage in volunteer daily support, one must be at least 16 years old, not related to the person in need of care up to the 2nd degree, and not live in the same household.

Volunteers' tasks include accompanying to doctor's appointments, official errands, cooking, shopping, household chores, and organizing daily care. To be recognized as a volunteer by the care insurance, participation in a corresponding training is necessary.

Volunteers can relieve caregivers and receive a reimbursement of up to 131 euros per month, in addition to the relief allowance from the care insurance. The training location is in Lower Bavaria and the market Ergolding.

Please note that there is a limited number of participants for the training. Starting January 1, 2021, private individuals can volunteer to support people in need of care (care level 1) at home.
