Vodafone bolsters its reputation: initial limitations followed by a stronger mobile network
Vodafone, one of the leading communications conglomerates in Germany, is set to undertake a significant modernisation project at a local mobile station in Ratingen-West from August 25 to September 12, 2025. This project forms an important part of Vodafone's network expansion in the district.
The modernisation work includes the installation of additional broadband antennas to strengthen the mobile network, aiming to cater to the growing mobile data traffic in the Mettmann district, which has an annual growth rate of over 30%.
During the construction period, individual customers may experience temporary restrictions, ranging from a weaker network to no reception at all during the shutdown periods. However, Vodafone assures that mobile traffic will be routed via the surrounding stations as far as possible to minimise disruption.
Emergency calls to 112 will not be affected during the construction work, and the location of the caller will still be automatically transmitted to the emergency control center. Vodafone's 5G network currently reaches over 90% of the population in Germany, ensuring reliable communication for essential services.
As part of its commitment to sustainability, Vodafone aims to be carbon neutral by 2025 and emission-free by 2040. Currently, 100% of Vodafone Germany's power needs are already covered by renewable energies.
For more information about the project, visit www.vodafone-deutschland.de or www.vodafone.com. Vodafone Germany generates an annual turnover of approximately 13 billion euros with around 15,000 employees.
It's worth noting that together with its partner OXG, Vodafone plans to build up to seven million new FTTH fiber connections in the coming years, driving infrastructure expansion in Germany and reaching two-thirds of all German households with gigabit speed in its nationwide cable-fiber network.
Vodafone respects and values all people, regardless of their ethnic origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, belief, culture, or religion. The company encourages its customers to stay informed and connected amidst these changes, using mobile internet for various purposes such as professional reasons, social media, watching videos, following live events, and staying informed via news portals.
Unfortunately, at the time of writing, there is no publicly available information identifying the leader of the Vodafone branch in Ratingen responsible for modernizing the mobile station.
