Vladivostok's packed December weekend offers sports, crafts and family fun
Vladivostok is set to host a busy weekend of events from December 5 to 7. Activities will range from sports and technology to crafts, food, and family entertainment. Organisers have prepared a mix of competitions, workshops, and festive markets for all ages. The weekend kicks off with the Primorsky Krai Kickboxing Championship and Cup at Arena Sport, running from December 4 to 7. Athletes from across the region will compete in various weight classes.
On December 6, DV Farm will hold a winter celebration featuring a farmers' mini-market, traditional borscht, samovar tea, and activities for children and adults. The same day, the 'Sky of the Motherland' festival for teens aged 14 to 22 will take place in the city. Meanwhile, the Russian Customs Academy will host an Academic Saturday master class on technical customs control tools.
Shopping and entertainment will also be in focus. The New Year's market opens at Cheryomushki Shopping Mall on December 6 and 7, offering festive goods and gifts. At More Mall, visitors can browse the 'Creative Bazaar' handmade crafts fair or attend a kitten and puppy show and sale.
December 7 brings two major events: the Robotics Tournament 2025 at Far Eastern Federal University and a 'Shoot Your Own Film' master class for children aged 8 to 16 at the Railway Workers' Palace of Culture. Additionally, the 'Spheres of Art' exhibition will open at GUM Department Store, running until January 20.
Similar large-scale public events have become common in cities like Moscow, St. Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, and Bryansk over the past five years. These include cultural festivals, sports competitions, and award ceremonies, reflecting a growing trend in regional event programming. The weekend's schedule offers something for everyone, from sports fans to families and art lovers. Many events, such as the kickboxing championship and the robotics tournament, will draw participants and visitors from across the region. The mix of traditional and modern activities highlights Vladivostok's diverse cultural scene.
