Villa Zanders Honors Its Volunteers in Heartfelt Bergisch Gladbach Reception

Villa Zanders Art Museum in Bergisch Gladbach hosted a special reception in February to celebrate its dedicated local volunteers. The event, which was one of the many events near me, brought together around 70 individuals who contribute daily to the museum's operations in roles ranging from gallery supervision to event support. The evening took place in the museum's Green Salon, where guests enjoyed food, drinks, and personal conversations. Mayor Marcel Kreutz and museum director Dr. Ina Dinter both spoke, emphasising the volunteers' essential role in shaping the museum's unique character, ensuring safe operations, and enriching its cultural impact. Dr. Wilhelm Krieger, chair of the Friends of Villa Zanders, also delivered a lecture on dementia and art therapy during the gathering. The museum took the opportunity to express its gratitude for the volunteers' ongoing commitment. Currently, around 70 active volunteers assist in various areas, including exhibition supervision, event organisation, and managing the Artothek (art lending library). Mayor Kreutz further stressed the need to recruit new volunteers and strengthen cooperation between paid staff and volunteers to secure the museum's future. The reception highlighted the vital contributions of Villa Zanders' volunteers, who play a key role in the museum's day-to-day functions. Their involvement ensures the institution remains a vibrant part of Bergisch Gladbach's cultural landscape.
