Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Chí Dũng met with Siemens Healthineers President Elisabeth Staudinger on 23 March to boost high-tech healthcare cooperation between Việt Nam and Germany. The discussions focused on expanding investment in next-generation medical systems and digital health solutions across the country. Siemens Healthineers has operated in Việt Nam since 1993, supplying over 4,000 laboratory and imaging systems nationwide. The company currently partners with more than 1,000 healthcare facilities, including major hospitals like Chợ Rẫy, Bạch Mai, and 108 Military Central Hospital.

During the meeting, Deputy PM Dũng urged the firm to increase its investment and operations in Việt Nam. He highlighted the government's commitment to creating favourable conditions for long-term cooperation, particularly in digital healthcare and AI applications. In response, Siemens Healthineers proposed expanding its global network's support for clinical training and technology transfer in the country.

The talks also covered plans to accelerate technology transfer, develop high-quality medical staff, and explore the establishment of R&D and innovation centres. Both sides emphasised the importance of strengthening science, technology, and innovation ties between the two nations. Việt Nam welcomed Siemens Healthineers' strategic proposals, aligning them with national policies on digital healthcare and AI development.
