Contrary to a viral claim, a video showing a massive landslide is not from Jammu, India, but rather from Alta city in Norway. The incident occurred on June 3, 2020, in the Kråkneset area, as confirmed by multiple news reports dated June 5, 2020.

Resident Jan Egil Bakkedal captured the video, which shows a landslide measuring between 650 and 800 metres wide and up to 40 metres high. The landslide submerged eight houses, including one belonging to Mr. Bakkedal.

Fortunately, no one was harmed in the landslide, according to police reports. However, nearby houses were evacuated as a precaution. A dog was swept away by the water but was later rescued. The landslide occurred in the Norwegian Sea.
