The VGCCC has stepped up enforcement ahead of the Christmas season. This follows a series of fines and warnings issued to venues caught breaching poker machine operating rules on key public holidays.

An investigation by the VGCCC uncovered multiple breaches during restricted hours. Twelve venues operated gaming machines on Good Friday, while two did so on ANZAC Day—both days when gambling is heavily restricted.

The VGCCC’s crackdown follows repeated breaches of game laws on major public holidays. Venues now face stricter monitoring, especially during high-risk periods like Christmas.
