Vibrant Life in Koblenz City!
The city of Koblenz has welcomed Joey Dietrich as a new apprentice at the Koblenz Rhine Harbor, marking a significant step in the harbor's ongoing efforts to train its own specialists.
Joey Dietrich will be embarking on a dual program apprenticeship, splitting his time between on-the-job training at the harbor and studying on a school ship in Duisburg. His apprenticeship, beginning on September 1, 2024, is in the role of a logistics specialist.
The Koblenz Rhine Harbor, a crucial logistics hub in the Middle Rhine region, operates its container terminal in partnership with Contargo Rhein-Main. This partnership, spanning over 30 years, has now expanded to include cooperation in training.
Patrick Stein, deputy harbor operations manager, and Laura Bell welcomed Joey Dietrich at the Koblenz Rhine Harbor. The city works and Contargo Rhein-Main's collaboration in training aims to further strengthen the harbor's position in the region and enhance its operations in the transport sector, which include harbor and rail operations.
This new development in the long-standing partnership between the city works and Contargo Rhein-Main is part of the city works' ongoing commitment to providing opportunities for young people to enter the workforce and build a career in the logistics industry.
Laura Bell, who works at the Koblenz Rhine port, was present for the welcome ceremony, although specific information about her role or function there is not currently available.
The photo of the welcome ceremony was taken by Sascha Ditscher. As Joey Dietrich begins his apprenticeship, the Koblenz Rhine Harbor continues to grow and evolve, solidifying its position as a key player in the region's logistics sector.
