Racing series - Formula 1 - Verstappen leads up to Monaco's showcase: "No surprising outcomes"

Following an unsuccessful qualifying session, Formula 1 titlist Max Verstappen approaches the Monaco Grand Prix with a more humble attitude. The Red Bull racer stated, "Things can occur in Monaco that you wouldn't anticipate, and we shouldn't rule out possibilities, but we're not anticipating any miracles." With a mere sixth-place starting position for the race on such a challenging track known for its lack of overtaking due to wide cars and narrow lanes, this is a less-than-ideal setup.

"It wasn't a great weekend for the team as a whole," Holland's Verstappen explained. "We've made numerous adjustments over the past few days, but none have enhanced the car's performance." Co-pilot Sergio Perez faced even more challenges, managing only to place 18th. "We can't anticipate much from the race because the likelihood of overtaking is almost zero," the Mexican admitted.

As the legendary racing team struggles to set up their cars, the championship runner-up Charles Leclerc is presented with an opportunity to claim his first victory since the last two years. The native Monegasque is set to begin the race at the lead and could secure his first win in his home country if all goes according to plan. "I'm extremely satisfied with the car, and the past few days have been fantastic," the 26-year-old acknowledged. "However, we shouldn't become too overconfident due to pole position," he cautioned, setting the goal of "bringing it home" on the Côte d'Azur no matter what occurs.
