Venezuelan news agency emphasizes its significance, advocates for enhanced collaboration
In a significant development, the President of the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), Pedro Ibáñe, expressed a desire to deepen collaboration with Vietnam's News Agency (VNA) during a meeting in Caracas, Venezuela.
The meeting, which was part of a working programme hosted by Venezuela's Ministry of Communication and Information, marked a significant step towards strengthening the relationship between the two news agencies. The VNA's Chief of the resident bureau in Mexico, Trương Phi Hùng, was present at the meeting, where he presented a souvenir to Simón Arrechide, the Deputy Minister of Communication and Information in Venezuela.
Ibáñe highlighted the VNA's growing role in the era of global integration, particularly its widespread correspondent network that promotes Vietnam's image abroad and offers multi-dimensional coverage of international affairs. He affirmed that the VNA's achievements set an example for the AVN.
Simón Arrechide, in his address, emphasised the VNA's role in faithfully chronicling Vietnam's revolutionary struggles and accompanying its development. He underlined the VNA's continued focus on the safeguarding of Vietnam's sovereignty and the achievements of the renewal process.
The collaboration between AVN and VNA is aimed at information sharing and professional exchange. Ibáñe stressed that the VNA continues to cover these crucial aspects, providing candid assessments of challenges facing Vietnam.
The VNA has been an integral part of Vietnam's historic journey, as highlighted by Ibáñe. Its role has grown in the era of global integration, with a focus on promoting Vietnam's image abroad and offering multi-dimensional coverage of international affairs.
Strengthened information exchange between the VNA and AVN is expected to foster better understanding of each other's culture, history, and development. An official two-way channel between the two agencies would ensure accurate reporting on policies and relations, helping to counter misinformation that could affect bilateral ties.
The VNA's achievements serve as an example for many Latin American news agencies, including the AVN. Ibáñe's sentiments were echoed by Ibáñe, who expressed that such collaboration benefits journalism and strengthens the traditional friendship between the two nations.
The working programme was organised to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day and the founding of the VNA. Ibáñe has underlined the VNA's growing role in the era of global integration, and the VNA has continued to fulfill its mission since national reunification, focusing on the safeguarding of sovereignty, achievements of the renewal process, and the spread of successful economic models.
The souvenir presented during the meeting was reported by the VNA/VNS Photo, symbolising the strong bond between the two news agencies and the nations they represent. This collaboration is a testament to the shared values and mutual respect between Vietnam and Venezuela, and it promises to enrich the global discourse on news and journalism.
