Venetian Resort Sues QTLST Management Over Unpaid Cancellation Fees

A California-based media management company, QTLST Management, and its CEO Shawn Copeland, are facing a lawsuit from the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, which represents the Venetian Resort. The lawsuit, filed in the Clark County District Court on Tuesday, alleges breach of contract, fraud, and unjust enrichment, among other claims.

The suit, which involves a Strip property's conference space and other amenities, including hotel suites, stems from the non-payment of over $1.9 million in cancellation fees. According to the lawsuit, the non-payment is due to late deposits.

The Venetian Resort, which didn't respond to a request for comment, claims that QTLST Management and Shawn Copeland have failed to honour their contractual obligations, resulting in significant financial loss. The total amount of alleged unpaid cancellation fees is over $1.9 million.

QTLST Management and Shawn Copeland couldn't immediately be reached for comment. The Strip property in question, which is also represented by the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, hasn't been named in the lawsuit.

This isn't the first time the Venetian Resort has taken legal action against a party for unpaid fees. In a separate lawsuit filed earlier this year, the resort sought over $1 million from a different defendant for similar reasons.

The article was written by Emerson Drewes for the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The party subject to jurisdiction in the contract matter filed by the Venetian Resort against QTLST Management and its CEO Shawn Copeland is QTLST Management and Shawn Copeland. The lawsuit was filed in the Clark County District Court.
