"Vehicle Inflammation on Autobahn 7 - Intensive Fire Response Close to Bad Bramstedt"
Fire on A7 Near Bad Bramstedt and Großenaspe Successfully Extinguished
On the evening of June 27, 2025, a fire incident occurred on the federal highway A7 near Bad Bramstedt and Großenaspe. The voluntary fire department of Bad Bramstedt was alerted at 19:32 and was joined by the fire department of Großenaspe in response.
Upon arrival, firefighters from Bad Bramstedt immediately began fighting the blaze, using two handheld C-jet hoses to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent vegetation. The fire was in a truck loaded with wood pellets, with the rear of the vehicle fully engulfed and the fire spreading to the right side through the loose cargo.
The fire was not engulfing the entire truck, as initially reported. However, the loose wood pellets posed a high fire load and significantly hindered the firefighting efforts. In cooperation with a called-out towing company, the truck was controlledly unloaded. The fire department of Bad Bramstedt carried out extensive follow-up firefighting until the vehicle could finally be towed away. The smoldering cargo was sectionally removed from the trailer and extinguished repeatedly.
Around 50 emergency personnel were involved in the incident, and four teams in breathing apparatus were in operation simultaneously to fight the fire. The firefighters' initial focus was on preventing the fire from spreading, before targeting the fire on the vehicle. The incident was initially coded as "FEU G" (fire larger than standard), and was later upgraded to "FEU 2" (fire, two fire hoses) due to multiple emergency calls.
Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident. The incident occurred on the federal highway A7 in the direction of Norden, causing traffic disruptions on the A7.
