Vehicle advances in France, passing by a crowded bar, leaves a fatality behind
In the early hours of this morning, a shocking incident occurred in the French city of Évreux, Normandy. According to reports from Le Parisien, BFMTV, and the prefecture, a car was driven into a crowd outside a bar, resulting in one death and five injuries.
The incident took place around four in the morning, with approximately 100 drunk people standing outside the bar when a person involved in a nighttime argument brought a car and drove it backwards at high speed multiple times into the crowd. The car was later driven away from the scene.
Authorities have since arrested three individuals in connection with the incident. The arrested individuals include the driver and two other passengers of the car involved, who are being investigated for manslaughter and attempted manslaughter. No further details about the arrested individuals or the investigation have been provided at this time.
The mayor of Évreux, Guy Lefrand, reported the tragic incident and confirmed that the bar had not complied with the rule of closing at one in the morning. The prosecutor of Évreux, Rémi Coutin, also provided information about the incident, stating that a great panic ensued when emergency services arrived at the establishment.
