Dresden: A streetcar collision occurred. - Van collides with streetcar, causing severe harm to driver (48)
At around 8:14 am on a Monday morning in Dresden's Mickten district, a streetcar on line 13 collided with a van. The van driver, aged 48, sustained severe injuries and became trapped in his vehicle.
To free the driver, hydraulic rescue equipment was used. He was then transported to the hospital. Luckily, the streetcar driver escaped the accident unscathed, as did the passengers on the streetcar.
The authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash. As a result, Sternstraße was shut down in both directions while the rescue operations were being carried out. A total of 24 emergency services were present at the scene.
