Urgent Night Clinic Opens in Bago City
The City of Bago marked a significant milestone in its healthcare infrastructure on August 18, 2025, with the launch of the "Project Night Care: Emergency Night Clinic" at the Health Station in Barangay Ma-ao.
This first-of-its-kind project, part of Mayor Marina "Mayette" Javellana-Yao's Asenso Bago local governance framework, aims to provide medical services to the residents of the city even during the night. The clinic accepts patients with levels 1 to 4 emergencies, including resuscitation, immediate, emergency, urgent, and semi-urgent cases.
Mayor Javellana-Yao, along with members of the City Council, health workers, and barangay officials, attended the launch. The project reflects the city government's "May Gugma nga Panghimanwa" brand of governance, a testament to their commitment to ensuring the well-being of its residents, especially during difficult moments.
The clinic handles urgent cases and transfers them to Bago City Hospital by 12 o'clock. Outpatient department (OPD) consultations continue from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays, Monday through Friday. The facility is equipped to handle emergency cases from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM every day, from Monday to Friday.
Councilor Leonilo del Carmen, head of the City Council committee on health, stated that the initiative represents a significant step towards ensuring the safety and well-being of the community, especially during the night. Dr. Mae Fairlenn Carmel Jocson and Dr. Elijah Blaise Bimbao were thanked for their efforts in managing the project.
The clinic does not provide services for childbirth. The search results do not provide specific information about which organization supported or funded the city government of Bago in carrying out the "Project Night Care: Emergency Night Clinic." However, the clinic is a significant step towards improving the overall healthcare infrastructure in the City of Bago, providing immediate medical attention to residents who require it during the night, reducing the need for them to travel far for medical care. The clinic is a testament to the city government's commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare services to its citizens.
