Pforzheim, a city known for its rich history and cultural heritage, is set to welcome a new addition to its urban art scene. Street artist Guido van Helten, renowned for his highly realistic style, will be contributing to the city's cultural development plan with a new artwork.

The "Pforzheim Cultural Development Plan 2030" is a city council initiative aimed at promoting Pforzheim as a cultural hub through street art and urban art. This plan has already resulted in the creation of artworks by artists "KEF!" and "1010", which can be seen on the facades of Western Karl-Friedrich-Straße and Karlstraße respectively. Guido van Helten's artwork will join these existing pieces, making it the third large-scale artwork in the city as part of this plan.

Guido van Helten visited Pforzheim in February for a two-week exploration, during which he showed particular interest in the significance of wood from the Black Forest, the rafting industry, the construction of the Carl high-rise, the traditional jewelry industry, and the destruction and rebuilding of the city. His artwork will be curated by Regina M. Fischer.

Mayor of Culture Sibylle Schüssler expressed enthusiasm for the addition of urban art in Pforzheim with renowned artist Guido van Helten. The location of Guido van Helten's artwork will be at the corner of Kelterstraße/Dietlinger Straße, starting from Friday.

The new Urban Street Art by artist Guido van Helten in Pforzheim began a year before Marina Capdevila's 2025 project, meaning it started around 2024, with a mural on a facade at the corner of Dietlinger Straße/Kelterstraße. The "Pforzheim Cultural Development Plan 2030" is focused on using street art and urban art to enhance the city's cultural profile, engaging with the history and atmosphere of a place, much like Guido van Helten's site-specific approach.

Guido van Helten creates historical or fictional figures, one or more persons, or physiognomies in his signature style. It remains to be seen what subject matter he will choose for his Pforzheim artwork, but one thing is certain - it will add another layer of cultural depth to this already vibrant city.
