Upgraded Porsche Taycan Offers Larger Battery and Enhanced Technology for 2025 Release
Porsche Taycan Gets Major Upgrades for 2025 Model Year
Porsche has announced a series of significant upgrades for the 2025 model year of its electric sedan, the Taycan. These enhancements aim to improve the vehicle's range, performance, and overall driver experience.
Starting with the base model, the standard battery has been upgraded to a 105kWh Performance Battery Plus, replacing the previous 89kWh unit. This change boosts the base Taycan's range, allowing it to travel up to 677km (421 miles) on a full charge, according to Top Gear.
Adaptive cruise control and lane change assist are now standard on all Taycan models, enhancing safety and convenience for drivers. However, these changes do not apply to the Taycan Cross Turismo, which remains a separate model.
The updated Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system offers faster performance and greater functionality, making navigation and entertainment more seamless. The new system is standard across the Taycan lineup.
Porsche is offering the 105kWh battery upgrade without increasing the base price of the EV. This upgrade provides an additional 80km (50 miles) of range, providing even more flexibility for long journeys.
For the GTS and Turbo variants, rear-axle steering and Porsche's Power Steering Plus are now included. These features improve handling and manoeuvrability, making the Taycan even more agile on the road.
The Taycan Cross Turismo now comes standard with the Offroad Design Package. This package includes 10mm of extra ground clearance, skid plates, and design elements tailored for light off-road adventures.
In addition, Dolby Atmos spatial audio is now available for vehicles equipped with Bose or Burmester premium sound systems, enhancing the in-car listening experience.
The 2025 model year generation of the Porsche Taycan has received street approval (Straßenzulassung) in Germany. This approval promotes the spread of electric vehicles and features advanced technology such as an 800-volt system for ultra-fast charging and optimized battery efficiency. This continues Porsche's commitment to electric mobility and high-performance electric sports cars.
These upgrades exemplify Porsche's commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in the electric vehicle market. With these enhancements, the Taycan is poised to remain a leader in the field of high-performance electric sports cars.
