Municipal Election in Bergisch Gladbach: Key Information

The city of Bergisch Gladbach will hold its municipal election on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Here's a rundown of important details for voters:

Direct Voting at Zanders

If you prefer to vote in person, direct voting at Zanders (An der Gohrsmühle 25, 51465 Bergisch Gladbach) is available from Monday to Saturday until Friday, September 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and on Saturdays until 3:00 PM. The direct voting office will reopen on September 22, 2025, with the following hours: Monday to Thursday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Friday: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

Please note that direct voting offices will not be offered in Bensberg and Refrath.

Postal Voting

You can request postal vote materials online up to Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM, by following this link: https://oliwa.kommunale.it/IWS/startini.do?mb=5378004B.

In the event of a runoff election, postal vote materials will be sent automatically if you've marked your preference for the runoff on your original postal vote. However, if you've already applied for a postal vote, you won't be able to vote in your district on election day.

Unreceived postal vote materials can be reported until Saturday before the election by calling 02202 - 14 2888.

Runoff Elections and Counting Process

If a runoff election occurs, voting in the direct voting office or on runoff Sunday will not be possible if you've already applied for runoff vote materials with your main vote. The counting of election results will begin at 6:00 PM on September 14, 2025, and no preliminary results may be published beforehand.

Election Day and Polling Stations

On election day, voting will take place at district polling stations from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The polling stations will be open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, September 14, 2025.

For those who become suddenly ill on election day, a postal vote can be issued by contacting the central election office at Scheidtbachstraße 23, 51469 Bergisch Gladbach, with a power of attorney and appropriate proof.
