Updated Polestar 2 for 2026 unveiled with lower prices, particularly beneficial for the entry-level version
The Swedish electric vehicle manufacturer, Polestar, has unveiled a series of updates and new features for its popular Polestar 2 model. Here's a breakdown of the changes:
In terms of standard inclusions, all Polestar 2 models will now benefit from a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, promising a smoother and more responsive infotainment experience.
For those seeking a premium audio system, the Harman/Kardon 600W sound system is now included in the Plus Pack, which also features a fixed panoramic glass roof, fully powered front seats, driver seat memory, front cushion leg extension, backrest storage nets, and Black Ash wood inlays.
If you're looking for an even more immersive audio experience, you can opt for the new 14-speaker 1350W Bowers & Wilkins sound system, but it can only be specified if the Plus Pack and panoramic roof have been chosen. However, a standard Bowers & Wilkins sound system can be added for $3500, also requiring the Plus Pack.
The Pilot pack, which includes Pilot Assist and Emergency Stop Assist, remains a standard inclusion. Additionally, new safety features such as tinting for the rear side windows and Pixel LED adaptive headlights are available for an additional $500 and $1600 respectively.
For those desiring a touch of luxury, the MicroTech quilted upholstery is a new interior option, while Bridge of Weir animal welfare-secured leather in Zinc with light ash deco and Charcoal with light ash deco are available for $4800 and $4400 respectively, but both options require the Plus pack.
The Performance Pack, which adds a performance software upgrade, 20-inch Performance wheels, Polestar Engineered chassis tuning, Brembo brakes, Ohlins Dual Flow Valve dampers, and Swedish gold accents, is available for $8980. This pack requires the Plus Pack and adds a new 20-inch forged alloy wheel to the lineup.
Regarding pricing, the Polestar 2 Standard range Single motor, Long range Single motor, and Long range Dual motor models have unchanged prices at $62,400, $66,400, and $71,400 respectively. The only model to see a price increase is the Polestar 2 Long range Dual motor Performance, due to the mandatory inclusion of the Plus Pack, now priced at $85,080.
Lastly, the Polestar 2 will be available in a new sandy metallic Dune paint, and privacy glass on rear windows is available for an additional $500.
The model upgrade of the 2026 Polestar 2, which includes a 70kWh NMC battery, increasing its WLTP range from 546km to 554km and charging power from 135kW to 180kW, has been carried out by Polestar itself.
The $1900 Pro Pack includes 20-inch graphite Pro alloy wheels, black seatbelts with gold striping, and gold tyre valve caps, offering another option for those seeking a personalised touch.
These updates and new features aim to enhance the driving experience and luxury offering of the Polestar 2, making it an even more attractive proposition for electric vehicle enthusiasts.
