Upcoming modifications in the power network schedule for the coming weekend.

On the weekend of August 23rd and 24th, several events are set to take place in Magdeburg, affecting public transport in the city. Here's a breakdown of the changes to help you plan your journeys.

On Saturday, August 23rd, the Christopher Street Day (CSD) parade will make its way through the city center, starting at 1 PM from the town hall. This may cause short-term restrictions and delays in tram and bus services. In the evening, the Magdeburg Zoo will host the Zoonight event, with tram line 10, the night-active line N8, and all trams that enter the North depot available for arrival and departure.

On Sunday, August 24th, the Lidl Germany Tour and the ADAC Cycling Tour will be held in the city center. Due to these events, several streets and squares in Magdeburg will be closed from 6 AM to 6 PM. Major traffic restrictions and parking limitations will be in place, and no city sightseeing tours will run that day.

For public transport, passengers with a valid marego ticket for the Magdeburg tariff zone can use the S-Bahn stations Buckau (South network) and Neustadt (North network). Tram line 2 will run between Alte Neustadt and Hauptbahnhof/Willy-Brandt-Platz (North network), and between Westerhüsen and Klinikum Olvenstedt (South network). Tram line 6 via North Bridge runs between Herrenkrug and Hauptbahnhof/Willy-Brandt-Platz. Tram line 4 will run via the North Bridge between Cracau and Hauptbahnhof/Willy-Brandt-Platz on Sunday, August 24th.

Bus line 73 runs between Olvenstedter Platz and Wissenschaftshafen, and bus line 59 runs in an altered route every 20 minutes between Sudenburg and Hauptbahnhof/Willy-Brandt-Platz as a direct connection to the city center.

Passengers are advised to check the current timetables in the easyGo app or on www.mvbnet.de before starting their journey on Saturday, August 23rd. On Sunday, August 24th, due to the cycling events, passengers should expect disruptions and higher passenger volumes, so using public transport and allowing extra travel time is advised.

In the night of Sunday, August 24th, the night service at the Old Market will run as usual at 6:15 AM. However, the daytime service will be divided into a north and a south network. Passengers are advised to inform themselves about their desired connection in good time via the easyGo app or the website www.mvbnet.de.
