Samsung Unveils the Galaxy S25 Edge: A New Premium Phone with Edge-to-Edge Display
Samsung has announced the latest addition to its S25 lineup of phones – the Galaxy S25 Edge. The new device, which was unveiled at Samsung's January Galaxy Unpacked event, promises to deliver a unique and innovative smartphone experience.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3nm) processor, ensuring smooth and efficient performance. This powerful chipset powers the Galaxy S25, S25, and S25 Ultra, making the entire S25 series one of Samsung's most advanced yet.
The Galaxy S25 Edge stands out with its super thin bezels, creating an almost edge-to-edge screen. This design feature, reminiscent of the Galaxy Edge models from 2016, provides a more immersive viewing experience.
In terms of memory and storage, the Galaxy S25, S25, and S25 Ultra offer options ranging from 12GB RAM with varying storage capacities (128GB, 256GB, and 1TB respectively) to 12GB RAM with storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB respectively for the Galaxy S25 Edge.
All three phones in the S25 series come with biometric features such as Ultrasonic Fingerprint and Face Recognition. They also support Super Fast Charging 2.0, Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, and Wireless PowerShare.
The Galaxy S25, S25, and S25 Ultra have screen sizes of 6.2", 6.7", and 6.9" respectively, and battery capacities of 4000mAh, 4900mAh, and 5000mAh respectively. They also support 5G (sub6, mmW) Wi-Fi 7 and UWB.
The Galaxy S25, S25, and S25 Ultra come in a variety of colours: Icyblue, Navy, Mint, Silver Shadow, Titan Black, Titan Gray, Titan Silverblue, and Titan Whitesilver.
Interestingly, the teaser video for the Galaxy S25 Edge suggests multiple heat management layers, indicating Samsung's efforts to ensure the device stays cool even during heavy usage. The exact design of the Galaxy S25 Edge may differ from its predecessors with the "Edge" name, as it features a slim profile and a dual rear camera array.
However, Samsung has not yet released official specifications, measurements, release date, or price for the Galaxy S25 Edge. The company has also been tight-lipped about the phone's battery capacity and other technical details.
The Galaxy S25 Edge was officially announced on May 13, 2025, and will be released on May 30, 2025. The phone features a small pin-hole front camera and additional features such as Galaxy AI, Cross-app action with AI Agent and native app integration, Now Bar, Now Brief, Audio Eraser for Videos, improved Cooling System, and Embedded S Pen (passive experience).
The Galaxy Edge is a welcome return of the Edge series, and fans of Samsung's premium phones are eagerly awaiting its release. With its powerful processor, edge-to-edge display, and innovative features, the Galaxy S25 Edge is shaping up to be a formidable competitor in the smartphone market.
