Unveiled are the specifics for Xantoluz 2025's Day of the Dead celebration
The Xantoluz 2025 festival, named after the Nahuatl term 'milkailjuitl' which means the celebration of the dead, is set to return from October 2 to November 2, 2025, at Parque España in Monterrey, Mexico. First held in 2023, this event aims to reconnect visitors with their Mexican roots.
Taking place in the heart of the Buenos Aires neighbourhood, Xantoluz 2025 is a celebration dedicated to Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead. The festival will feature live music performances, theatre plays, traditional altars, and a journey to Mictlán, the Mexica underworld.
Attendees are encouraged to dress up for the celebration, creating a parade of catrinas, iconic female skeletons dressed in vibrant, ornate dresses, a common sight during Day of the Dead celebrations.
The festival will offer a variety of experiences for the whole family. The thematic and immersive spaces will provide an opportunity to learn about and experience one of Mexico's most important traditions.
Tickets for adults are priced at $222, while those for children and seniors are $177. The tickets include access to the Pavilion of Legends, Main Altar Stage, Traditional Pantheon, Food area, Main stage, Children's stage, Alebrijes zone, Games zone, and Mictlán (underworld).
The festival will open its doors from 3:00 PM until 11:00 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, the festival will be open from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Tickets can be purchased directly on the official portal of Xantoluz.
