The Americana Festival, held every two years in Friedrichshafen, Germany, is a celebration of the Western lifestyle and a tribute to the Paramount success series Yellowstone. This year, the event is expected to attract over 50,000 visitors, who will flock to the second-largest exhibition grounds in Baden-Württemberg, near Lake Constance.

The festival grounds are transformed into a Western town, complete with a saloon named after the Western series "Yellowstone" and a Truck Bar run by Dirk Trautmann, a Münsterlander who believes that Western and Lake Constance fit well together.

The exhibitors of the "Yellowstone" Saloon include renowned artists performing live, such as Cash Muretta (USA), Amanda Kate Ferris (USA), Doug Adkins (USA), and Buffalo Hillbilly (FR). These musicians offer a musical tribute to the Yellowstone series, entertaining the crowds and adding to the Western atmosphere of the event.

In addition to the music, the riding shows are a highlight of the Americana Festival. With 460 horses and 650 cattle involved, the shows showcase the skills and traditions of Western riding.

The event also attracts fans of the Western scene, including lovers of checkered shirts and large belt buckles. Over 300 exhibitors from 16 nations are participating, offering a wide variety of Western-themed goods for sale.

Dirk Trautmann, who finds the idea of the fair being held in Frankfurt with its skyscrapers as less suitable, is pleased with the location of the Americana Festival near Lake Constance. He explains that the location contributes to the Western atmosphere of the event.

This year, 700 tons of sand, 100 tons of forest soil, and 40 tons of hay were transported into the halls for the event, helping to create the authentic Western setting that festival-goers have come to expect.

The Americana Festival is considered one of the most important events for Western fans in Europe, and this year is no exception. The event opened on Wednesday and will close on Sunday, providing four days of Western fun and entertainment.
