Unplanned Protest Leading to Property Vandalism

Unauthorized Protest and Vandalism Incident in Berlin's Tiergarten

A protest against military conscription turned violent in Berlin's Tiergarten yesterday evening, resulting in an unregistered assembly and vandalism. The eastern sidewalk of Konrad-Adenauer-Straße was closed to pedestrian traffic for a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes, from 6:50 PM to 8:20 PM, due to the protest and subsequent cleanup efforts.

Three protesters, aged 17, 19, and 20, were found on the sidewalk of Konrad-Adenauer-Straße, drenched in red vegetable juice and carrying cardboard signs opposing conscription. An anti-conscription slogan was written on the kindergarten's facade using red vegetable juice, and the vandalism incident has yet to be identified as belonging to any specific product or brand.

The protest was organised by a pro-Palestinian group, who were demonstrating against what they called the "genocide" in Gaza. They planned the protest to demand an immediate end to Israel's military actions and to express solidarity with Palestinians.

A criminal complaint for vandalism with political motives and an administrative offense report for conducting an unregistered assembly were filed. The three protesters were taken into police custody for identification procedures and later released. As of the current report, they have not been charged with any offenses.

The kindergarten's operations continued without disruption, despite the vandalism incident on its facade. A cleaning company later removed the red vegetable juice from the kindergarten's facade and sidewalk without encountering any significant issues.

Further investigations into the unregistered assembly and vandalism incident are being handled by the State Protection division of the Berlin State Criminal Police Office. The Berlin authorities have not issued any statements regarding potential penalties or further actions related to the protesters or the vandalism incident, as of the current report.
