Unlawful Activities: Detainment and Raid Suspected for Smuggling Foreigners into Prostitution Business (BPOLD-KO)
In a significant development, German authorities have carried out a large-scale operation against suspected organized crime, focusing on an alleged brothel and the illegal smuggling of foreigners. The operation, involving over 200 officers, took place across several cities, including Frankfurt am Main, Wiesbaden, and Ludwigshafen am Rhein.
The investigation, led by the Federal Police Inspectorate for Combating Crime in Frankfurt/Main, is directed against four suspects. Three of these suspects have been arrested, including a 51-year-old, a 44-year-old, and a 69-year-old, while the fourth remains at large.
The 51-year-old suspect is alleged to have run the brothel, while the 69-year-old is accused of driving the prostitutes to hotel and house visits, providing them with supplies, and placing ads on erotic platforms. The 44-year-old suspect is alleged to have temporarily represented the 59-year-old suspect in business operations and to have been responsible for answering calls from clients as a telephone operator.
During the searches, numerous pieces of evidence, particularly mobile phones and data carriers, were secured. Significant amounts of cash totaling 48,815 euros, jewelry items worth approximately 35,000 euros, and two high-end handbags were also seized.
The suspects are also accused of evading social security contributions, VAT, and income tax since 2019, resulting in estimated losses of 190,000 euros for social security, 230,000 euros for VAT, and 100,000 euros for income tax.
The investigation is being conducted due to suspicion of smuggling foreigners into the country for profit and in an organized manner, evading social security contributions, tax evasion, and attempted obstruction of justice. The search results do not provide specific information about the names or identities of three suspects arrested in connection with the illegal smuggling of foreigners, nor do they specify the timing of such arrests.
Press inquiries can be directed to the General Prosecutor's Office Frankfurt am Main Press Office at 069/1367-2253 or [email protected]. The judge at the Darmstadt Local Court will decide on the enforcement of the arrest warrants, and the three suspects arrested today and tomorrow will be presented to the court.
