United Arab Emirates Leads Global Innovation: Embracing AI in Education and Encouraging Knowledge Exchange

In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a nation known for its emphasis on innovation and investment in knowledge, significant strides are being made in the education sector. The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) is leading the charge, aiming to offer new generations better access to knowledge by converting its print books into digital formats.

To achieve this, the ALC is expanding the reach of its digital publications through projects like Wajeez Al Kutub, which provides comprehensive summaries of the most important books in modern digital and audio formats. Moreover, the ALC has digitized and produced in audio format hundreds of carefully selected titles.

The UAE's commitment to digital education is evident in the distribution of 46,888 laptops to students, further advancing digital learning and enhancing technological skills. This focus on technology is not limited to students, as teachers are also receiving extensive training in artificial intelligence (AI), both as a subject of study and as a teaching tool.

The training of teachers in AI and other digital subjects is a crucial part of the UAE's national strategy for tech transformation, with approximately 5,000 teachers being trained for the 2025-2026 academic year. This training will allow teachers to provide more effective feedback and employ flexible teaching methods that strengthen critical thinking and analytical skills.

Teachers in the UAE are also being empowered with smart tools for designing interactive content and monitoring student performance. Virtual assistants are providing students with continuous academic support, and AI and robotics labs are being established in schools to further foster technological learning.

The UAE is not only focusing on technology but also on the physical infrastructure of schools. Nine new schools will open across several educational zones in the UAE for the new academic year, and comprehensive maintenance has been carried out on 465 schools to ensure their readiness and to provide students with a modern and safe learning environment.

The UAE's education sector is also undergoing a significant shift in assessment methods. Continuous assessment will be implemented for students in grades one through four, and the Ministry's policy update aligns with its broader strategy to continuously develop the education sector.

The UAE's School of the Future, where AI plays a central role in transforming education, is a testament to the nation's commitment to innovation. The school is fully prepared to welcome nearly one million students for the new 2025-2026 academic year, with 830 new educators recruited across multiple disciplines.

In conclusion, the UAE's approach to education is a forward-thinking one, focusing on leveraging modern technologies and AI to provide students with the best possible learning environment. The nation's investment in knowledge and innovation is a clear path to future leadership.
