WPP Retains Unilever's $3.3 Billion Media Account

In a significant move, global advertising giant WPP has managed to retain Unilever's media account, worth an estimated $3.3 billion. The account will be handled by WPP's Mindshare, as confirmed by WPP's CEO, Mark Read.

Read expressed his excitement about continuing to work with Unilever, referring to WPP as Unilever's most important media agency. Mindshare will continue to work with Unilever across multiple markets, including the U.S., the U.K., Ireland, the Netherlands and Belgium, Italy, Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam), Eastern Europe, and the Nordics.

During the six-month review process, Unilever tested new areas, and according to Mark Read, this process thoroughly evaluated WPP's ecommerce capabilities. However, no new information about the specific services WPP will provide to Unilever was given.

Cindy Rose, who took over as WPP's CEO on September 1, 2025, was the leader involved in renewing the media contract between Unilever and Mindshare. Despite the thorough review process, no new information about the reasons for choosing WPP over other agencies was provided.

The retention of Unilever's media account is a significant win for WPP, and it marks a continuation of a long-standing partnership between the two companies. However, no new information about the length or details of the partnership was provided in this announcement.
