Unidentified remains found in Brooklyn; NYPD appeals for public assistance in tattoo identification
In the quiet neighbourhood of Brooklyn's Cypress Hills, a tragic discovery was made on August 6. Department of Transportation workers found human remains along the westbound Exit 1 off the Jackie Robinson Parkway.
The remains belong to a woman, whose ethnicity is possibly Black or Hispanic. The woman is estimated to be between 20 and 30 years of age, standing at a height of between 4 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 2 inches. She had dark brown curly hair with bleached ends and wore a silver metal ring with a pink heart-shaped diamond. The woman also had a piercing and a rose tattoo on her upper-left buttock.
The NYPD is leading the investigation, and they are yet to publicly identify the woman. There is no known connection of her to the police or other authorities.
The city medical examiner's office is working diligently to determine the cause of death. In the meantime, the public is being urged to provide any information that could help in the investigation.
