Missing Man Found in Namsky District

In a tragic turn of events, the body of an elderly man, born in 1944, who had been missing since September 1st from the village of Krest-Kytyl in Namsky District, has been discovered.

The search operations for the missing man began on September 2nd, with the Emergency Service, Ministry of Internal Affairs, local administration, and volunteers joining forces to find him. The body was found during the fifth dive by the dive team from the Yakutia Emergency Service, approximately 1 km from the village and 10 meters from the shore.

The stream, which had been cut off from the river due to a drop in water levels, was also thoroughly inspected. Distinctive tracks, suggesting the man was a Nordic walker, were discovered during the search, indicating that he had entered the water more than once.

Nighttime searches used a drone with a thermal camera to aid in the search efforts, which continued around the clock. Search teams consisting of rescuers and volunteers inspected every abandoned building in the village, while fields and forests surrounding the settlement were also checked.

Despite the extensive search, the search results do not provide the name or identity of the diver from the emergency service who found the corpse.

On September 2nd, the man's shirt was found folded near a stream running close to the village, marking the beginning of the search. The community and the search teams are now left to mourn the loss and extend their condolences to the man's family and friends.
