In a recent turn of events, Snoop Dogg, the renowned American rapper, has found himself at the centre of a discussion surrounding his views on LGBTQ+ representation in children's films.

The controversy began when Snoop Dogg expressed his concerns about the portrayal of various sexual orientations and gender identities outside of heterosexual norms in children's films on the podcast "It's Giving." His comments caused a stir, leading to speculation about his stance on the matter.

However, it appears that some of the comments attributed to Snoop Dogg were not made by him. In a series of posts on Instagram, his spokesperson clarified that the alleged apologies for homophobic remarks and the comments about being scared to go to the movies after seeing the movie "Lightyear" (2022), which features a lesbian couple, were fabrications. The source of these alleged comments remains unknown.

The alleged comments that Snoop Dogg called "falseness" were written by an impostor or fake account, according to his spokesperson. The Hollywood Reporter also reported that Snoop Dogg's comments on "Hollywood Unlocked" did not come from the rapper.

Snoop Dogg, aged 53, has expressed his concerns about the portrayal of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender individuals, queer people, and other sexual orientations in children's films. He stated that he doesn't have the answers for children about LGBTQ+ representation in children's films.

Meanwhile, screenwriter Lauren Gunderson, who penned "Lightyear," defended her decision to include a lesbian couple in the film on Instagram. She stated that the love between the lesbian couple in "Lightyear" is beautiful and not fiction, while other elements of the film like Zurg, lightspeed space travel, murderous aliens, and a talking robot cat are fiction.

The debate surrounding Snoop Dogg's comments on LGBTQ+ representation in children's films has sparked new confusion over his stance. Despite the clarifications, the conversation continues to evolve, shedding light on the importance of representation in media and the ongoing dialogue about its impact on society.
