Uncertain times lie ahead: Hamburg Theatre searches for a fresh base

The Little Court Theater in Horn, a cherished cultural institution founded 40 years ago by Petra Behrsing and Claudia Isbarn, is currently hosting the summery-light revue "But please with Schlager" until September 21st. Despite the eviction notice from the Martinskirche and the search for a new home, the performances are continuing with passion and dedication.

Oberspielleiter Stefan Leonard is at the helm of the revue, which takes the audience on a time travel to a camping holiday. The hits from the 70s and 80s, including "Your Traces in the Sand" and "Without You (I won't sleep tonight)", are designed to put the audience in a good mood. The troubled story of parents and lovesick teenagers in "But please with Schlager" is contrasted with the upbeat music of the era.

The ticket price for "But please with Schlager" is 35 Euro, and bookings can be made by calling 68 15 72. The new venue into which the Little Court Theater will move at the end of 2026 is called the "Kulturzentrum Horn." The search for a new home, accommodating at least 100 visitors, has already begun, with the ideal location being in the east of the city.

The Little Court Theater must move out by mid-2026, as the church claims the space for its own use after 20 years. The church's decision has caused a stir in the community, but the dedicated team at the Little Court Theater remains hopeful for a bright future.

Despite the challenges, the performances of "But please with Schlager" are a testament to the resilience of the Little Court Theater and its commitment to providing quality entertainment to its audience. So, if you're in the mood for a nostalgic trip down memory lane, be sure to catch "But please with Schlager" before it leaves the Little Court Theater.
