Fire in Wollmatingen District: Quick Response Saves Day
A fire that broke out in the Wollmatingen district of Konstanz on July 8, 2025, was swiftly brought under control by the local fire department, thanks to their quick response and effective teamwork.
The incident began at 11:03 AM when a strong smoke emission was reported in Eichbรผhl Street. Upon arrival, four teams in breathing apparatus found a garden shed and an adjacent chicken coop fully engulfed in flames.
The quick intervention of the fire department, along with the Wollmatingen and Petershausen departments, prevented the fire from spreading to nearby vegetation. However, unfortunately, the animals housed in the chicken coop could not be saved.
Due to the challenging water supply on-site, the water tank trailer of the Wollmatingen department was additionally alerted. After extinguishing the fire, thermal imaging cameras were used to monitor the fire area for any remaining hotspots.
The operation was completed after approximately 4.5 hours, and the scene was then handed over to the police, the veterinary office, and representatives of the nature conservation authority.
